We are blessed to live in a nation unlike most others in the history of mankind. Might does not make right in America - or at least it's not supposed to. America was founded upon the principles of "Lex Rex" (The law is king) instead of "Rex Lex" (the king is law). As Christians we know that our citizenship is ultimately in heaven and not in any earthly government. And yet we can still give thanks and celebrate the godly principles on which America was founded, and the freedoms that we enjoy as a result!
Independence Day family selfie!
Patience loves waving her American flag. It was neat to see the light bulbs turn on in her head when she realized that it's the same flag as the large one over our sun porch!
Helping Mommy with dishes to prepare for guests.
More precious friends!
Watching the intense water balloon fight. BTW - if you ever want to do a lot of water balloons, these things at Costco are totally worth it!
Stocking up on ammo.
I LOVE STRAWBERRIES! REALLY, REALLY, REALLY LOVE STRAWBERRIES!
A dramatic reading the Declaration of Independence, complete with huzzahs, boos, and "hear, hear"s.
Chilling in the evening.
After dinner our group walked a few blocks into town to see the fireworks show. A perfect end to a sweet day!
